reflections
Today I have taken a moment to remember. Last year at this time, we planned to get together for Thanksgiving Dinner at my sisters and I remember feeling and believing that MaryJane would be with us for quite a long time. I was sure of it. But I also remember being sure that I didn’t want to miss an opportunity to share any time I had with her. I am thankful that I acted on those feelings. I am thankful that she was in our lives. She still is in our hearts. She would want us to not be too sad, but to remember her. Mostly, she would want us to learn an important lesson. Cherish those that are in our lives, hold on to them, tell them how much you love them, we never know just when our hugs goodbye will be the last one.
the gifts that keep on giving
Some other gifts that you will find at the Soup and Salad Luncheon:
Sweetwater Cotton Shop has donated a lovely gift certificate in which you can use to buy wonderful quilt fabrics or give to a quilter you love for Christmas.
Joel’s Family Foods and Supervalu are each donating a handy gift basket with nonperishable items that will help you to entertain friends and family that may stop by. Or maybe a lovely gift to give a neighbor?
It’s All About You, Paynesville has donated a beautiful purse, wallet and additional wallet. If I can, I will take pictures of these and add to this site. They are beautiful and would be hard to give away as a gift, you will want this for yourself, but it would be a great gift too!!!
Kathy Johnson, niece of Barb Johnson, and her Relay For Life team from Renville County have donated a beautiful hand-made bracelet honoring the American Cancer Society.
There is a pedicure from LeeAnn at Ruthies in Paynesville. This time of year, we don’t want to forget our toesies!! They need some tender loving care and LeeAnn is just the one to take care of us. We all want this one too!!!
more later, but are you getting the point that you don’t want to miss this event!!
A Happy Day to you!!! And on a special note, please take a moment and call Mr. J if you have a chance. This is a hard time for him and he could use a quick hello. You can maybe reach him at 320-243-4303, and if you don’t get him, just leave him a cheerful message to let him know you were thinking of him. Our Mary Jane will be smiling down on you!
another item for our chance drawing
I know that both of the guys in our house want this!! So this would be a great Christmas gift you could purchase a chance to win (while donating to such a fabulous cause).
White Wolf Radio-Controlled Helicopter
to purchase a ticket to win this fabulous gift, you will want to come to the Soup and Salad luncheon being held this Saturday at Bug Bee Hive Resort. There will be really good food that has all been donated. The soup is all being donated by Subway, some of our favorites!! Then there will be many varieties of delightful salads and treats all donated by Relay For Life Team Members and Friends. The space is being provided for us courtesy of Johnson Funeral Home. The luncheon is a free will offering and all of the money will be donated to Relay For Life in honor of Barb Johnson. We thank you in advance for supporting this wonderful cause that touches each of us.
Christmas Tree Tour Prizes… here are a few I picked up so far
We have some great prizes so far!! This weekend I received some cool handmade soap, a very cool handmade dusting mitt, some cute tupperware measuring spoons that look like measuring cups, a handmade holiday towel and some very cute metal christmas trees. I know more prizes are coming!!! Just thought I would give an update! Add that to the great diamond necklace and many other prizes I have heard we have so far!!
Our MaryJane, she LIVED her life.
There is a day in each of our lives that we remember, a moment that is heartfelt, in which Barb became a permanent resident in our heart. For our family it was almost 17 years ago. She immediately adopted me into her family and then Robin, and then of course our children, and then two by two, all of our family members and our friends, and well, anyone we might be talking to when she walked into the room.
We teased, we laughed, we confided, we loved, we cried, we walked through many challenges, we played games, we thoroughly enjoyed most everything, we prayed, we endured, and then we hugged good-bye, for now. And when I say we, I speak for all of us. She touched us all, and we are grateful.
Diamonds are a girls’ best friend…..
In all seriously, that is not true. I would prefer to have a true friend rather than any gift, ever……. That being said though, since I have such good friends.
A diamond would be nice………….
Another gift that will be up for grabs at the Soup and Salad Luncheon is a beautiful necklace donated by Schepers Jewelers of St. Cloud. You can find them at 2820 2nd St. South, #110 320-252-2082.
They have donated a beautiful pendant necklace made of 14kt white gold, holding a beautiful diamond in the center of a circle. You will want to try for this gift!!! (Schepers Jewelers confided in us that it has a $259 value.)
Tree Tour Map & Brochure
This Link will open a pdf file that will allow you to print the map for the Chistmas Tree Tour. Please note, it will appear sideways on your computer until you print it out! Please do not lay on your chair sideways to try to read this! It is very dangerous! Please print and read!!
Thanks! Barb’s Bloomers!
